5 DECEMBER 2010

A total of 37 students went for their next belt level at the Whitsunday Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan Gup (Coloured Belt) and Dan (Black Belt) Grading recently. This was the last grading for the year and students from both the Airlie Beach and Proserpine Clubs put on a fabulous display of their skills for their families and friends who had come to watch. All students have been training extremely hard this year and the Instructors wish to congratulate everyone on their achievements throughout 2010. 


An Honours Pass was awarded to Sahara Heslop, Angus Craig, Bodhan Lamb, Florian Fierer, Kylie Shoesmith, Crystal Atkinson, Leah Wheeler, Ayeesha Hodges and James Eyles. The Best Grading trophy was presented to both William Matara and AJ Shoesmith, both from the Proserpine Club, who exhibited an exceptional display of both their fighting and technical skills. A record total of 33 students were assessed for their next belt level at the Club’s Gup (Coloured Belt) Grading this month. The students put on a tremendous display of their skills for their families and friends who had come to watch, and it was one of the best gradings seen by the Instructors. Whitsunday Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan held its very first Gup (Coloured Belt) Grading at the Whitsunday PCYC on Sunday 18 April 2010. A group of 17 students from the Club attended the grading and were assessed by Mr Stephen Brown – a 5th Dan Black Belt who travelled up from the Gold Coast to assess the students.WS_Photo_1
