2012 WHITSUNDAY INTER-CLUB TOURNAMENT
Whitsunday Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan held its third Inter-Club Tournament on Saturday the 19th of May 2012. A total of 41 students (22 from Proserpine and 19 from Airlie Beach) competed in the Technical and Sparring (fighting) divisions.
There were some awesome displays of technical skill in the Self Defence, Jumping Front Kick and Poomsae events and the Sparring results were absolutely awesome – especially those from the “Little Tigers” – who are aged between 4 and 6. All students were encouraged to participate as they would be competing against their fellow Club members and the Sparring was "light body contact only".
A huge congratulations to all those students who competed – especially those students who had never been in a tournament before – Well done everyone J. We appreciate everyone who came to support the club and a HUGE thanks has to go out to the volunteers who helped out on the day – we could not have done it without you.

2010 WHITSUNDAY INTER-CLUB TOURNAMENT
Whitsunday Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan held its first Inter-Club Tournament on Saturday the 13th of November 2010. A total of 29 students from both the Airlie Beach and Proserpine Clubs competed in the Poomsae (technical) and Sparring (fighting) divisions.
It was a “friendly”, light body contact tournament as the competitors train with each other on a regular basis. The main objective was to give students a taste of what it is like to compete in a tournament in anticipation for up-coming regional events and the 2011 State Championships.
The events were judged by Head Instructor Vicky Gillam – 4th Dan Black Belt, and assisted by 1st Dan Instructors Jim Hodges and Jarrad Arthur.
There were some outstanding displays of technical skill in the Poomsae events and the Sparring results were absolutely awesome – especially those from the “Little Tigers” who are aged between 5 and 7.
It was also wonderful to see most of the parents who train with their children competing on the day as well.
